DIY Gifts: Date Night Book

My husband and I are always going back and forth on who has to choose what to do! Drive us both crazy....So, I decided to make him a gift that would solve at least some of our problems!! A Date Night Book!

Date Night Book
I got the idea somewhere online a while ago (sorry, no original link), it was most likely Pinterest.  Essentially, you can go through and write down "date nights" for you and your loved one to do! This takes  at least some of the back and forth out of deciding. =) I sat down and thought of all the things I thought would make good dates nights and made a list. They can be anything from seeing a movie to sitting at home snuggling on the couch or even going out and doing something bigger! It is all about making memories and spending time with the one you love. It does not actually have to cost anything!! My favorite part!

Here is my list I came up with (I still have to add more even though I already gave him the book!):

In no particular order...
1. Sketch out a blueprint of our dream home.
2. Make a list of MUST-HAVE features for our dream home.
3. Pain each other's portraits.
4. Plan our honeymoon.
5. Make a list of places we have been and want to go.
6. Build a fort and watch a movie.
7. Attend a festival.
8. Go see a local band.
9. Spa Night.
10. Cookie Bake-off.
11. Build our bucket lists (together and separate.)
12. Make a work of art for the house.
13. Pain our own pottery.
14. Visit a museum.
15. Go to a Flea Market.
16. Go Bowling.
17. Make a time capsule.
18. Go to a bar and watch the game.
19. Play board games.
20. See a movie at the dollar theater.
21. Go to a wine tasting.
22. Grab the pups and go on a picnic.
23. Go to goodwill or a thrift store and pick  out one item for the other person ($10 budget.)
24. Get up early and go eat brunch in a nice place.
25. Do a historic walking tour.
26. Watch stand up comedy ALL NIGHT.
27. Make a list of potential baby names.
28. Make a 5, 10, 15 year 'basic' plan.
29. Take the pooches on a looong walk.
30. Cook an exotic meal or cook something we have always wanted to try.
31. Have a picnic at a lake.
32. Re-arrange a room, just for fun.
33. Pajama Party! Pop some popcorn and enjoy a movie.
34. Go for a hike.
35. Play video games together.
36. Make a mix CD or playlist of song that remind you of one another.
37. Go for a nice long drive to nowhere.
38. Re-live our first "official" date.
39. Go to a driving range.
40. Go to a shooting range.
41. Go to a free outdoor concert.
42. Take a cooking class.
43. Catch a local sports game.
44. Cook a big breakfast together and then climb back into bed and enjoy.
45. YouTube night! Spend some time watching funny videos.
46. Go fly a kite!
47. Nerf gun war.
48. Go star-gazing.
49. Go geocaching.
50. Go for a walk in the rain, sans the umbrella.
51. Explore all of the myths and mysteries behind Area 51!
52. Go for a tour of the city we are in.
53. Go to a farmer's market.
54. Rent some kayaks or a canoe.
55. Put together a puzzle.
56. Movie marathon!
57. Series marathon.
58. Lay on the beach and watch the stars.
59. Try out a new restaurant.
60. Cuddle on the couch and watch a movie.

Some of these I kept from where I got the original idea, but I also personalized it with things I thought either or both of us would enjoy! For example, for us to re-live our first date, if we were at home, would require us to make about a 3- 3.5 hour drive up to where we went to college but it would be so much fun and mean so much!

Below, you will find pictures of some of my pages! Make sure you make the book your own! You can decorate the pages any way you want and the person you give it to will love it because they will know you put a lot of thought into making it for them!
